An Iceland souvenir T-shirt design was created for a travel group called My Travel Meetup in Naperville, Illinois.
A teal blue shirt was chosen as the background for this design to represent the color of glacial ice and the waters surrounding the island of Iceland. I offered the option of a charcoal gray shirt to represent the volcanic soil and rocks on the island.
Stylistic water currents behind the other design elements are shown in light blue. A Viking compass, a rune symbol for peace, whale, gull, seals, and horses all reflect the history of Iceland and some of the wildlife in the country.
The mixed font used for the name of the country has an elvish feel about it and gives reference to the folkloric belief in elves, trolls, and ‘hidden people’ on the island.
