An early interest in arts and crafts spurred George Renkel on to a lifelong love of graphic design and photography. Growing up in Colorado provided Renkel an environment rich in natural beauty. Graphic design and photography were two avenues which allowed him to create and share the beauty he observed around him.

In college, Renkel’s studies centered around graphic design and mass communications, which helped foster additional interests in calligraphy, typography, letterforms, logos, and promotional campaigns. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Colorado (now known as Colorado State University-Pueblo).

Post college, Renkel moved to the Chicago suburbs where digital technology expanded his interest in photography, especially macro photography. His favorite subjects are nature scenes, flowers, and trees, as well as abstracts, patterns, and an occasional whimsical subject to match his witty humor.

A series of IT roles helped give Renkel more of a technical perspective which fostered an interest in website development. From the early days of Microsoft FrontPage to the more recent SharePoint and WordPress options, Renkel has always favored the visual aspects of website design.

The year 2017 brought about some career change opportunities for Renkel and he decided to focus on the things he loves: graphics, logos, typestyles, photography, and design as a whole.

Renkel currently resides in Bartlett, Illinois, but loves returning to the Colorado mountains for inspiration. Outside of those locations, you can often find him roaming with his camera in botanic gardens, forest preserves, community parks, urban jungles and international destinations. He is most inspired when he’s free to explore and discover the beauty of this world.
