New display font

Command font

Work in progress…

I am currently working on a new display font design. The main distinguishing elements in this font is the use of small cloverleaf-type of loops on the corners of the letters.

Inspiration for the design came from the command key on a Macintosh keyboard.

After a brief internet search of fonts, I concluded that a font that used these corner loops had yet to be created. So, I put pencil to paper and came up with a basic design.

I sketched the initial letters for the font in September 2017 and started building them in Illustrator. The uppercase letters have been drafted with lowercase letters soon to follow. Eventually, I will move the letterforms into Glyphs to fine tune the details and create a finished font.

Naming of the font is still in the works. I do not want to call it “Command” font. So, that detail will have to wait a bit.
